The Society for Ecological Restoration advances the science, practice, and policy of ecological restoration to sustain biodiversity, improve resilience in a changing climate, and re-establish an ecologically healthy relationship between nature and culture. Headquartered in Washington D.C. in the United States, SER is a global non-governmental organization with more than 5,000 members and partners in 100+ countries. By way of its members, publications, conferences, policy work, and outreach, SER defines and delivers excellence in the field of restoration and provides a singular platform for knowledge exchange and learning.

SER attracts regional representation on all continents, including 16 Chapters across Africa, Australasia, Europe, Latin America, and North America; an active working group in Asia; and three international thematic sections focused on large scale ecosystem restoration, seed-based restoration, and natural regeneration.

SER’s World Conference is an exciting and inspiring biennial gathering of global experts in restoration, making the 11th World Conference on Ecological Restoration – SER2025 the premier venue for those interested in being active members of the global restoration community. Delegates represent the scientific, technical, policy, governmental, financial and socio-cultural sectors. They are researchers and practitioners of restoration working in nearly all biomes and continents.


The Society for Ecological Restoration Rocky Mountains chapter is an independent non-profit organization. Established in 1996 as the Society for Ecological Restoration Central Rockies Chapter (CeSER), SER-Rocky Mountains (SER-RM) serves the states of Colorado and Wyoming and those interested in and working in the region.

SER-RM is a chapter of more than 325 members consisting of individuals and organizations who are actively engaged in ecologically sensitive repair and management of ecosystems through a broad array of experience, knowledge sets and cultural perspectives. They are scientists, planners, administrators, ecological consultants, natural areas managers, growers, community activists, and volunteers, among others.
