To assist students in making the conference participation affordable, SER offers a volunteer program to reduce or waive the conference registration fee.
SER will reduce the registration fee by 50 percent for students volunteering for 15 hours during the conference, and will waive the conference registration fee (100%) for those volunteering for 30 hours. This benefit extends only to registration for the conference itself. Costs of additional activities associated with the conference (e.g., field trips, training courses, guest attendance, etc.) remain the responsibility of the student.
Priority for student volunteers will be given to current SER members who have an accepted in-person presentation at the conference, are fluent in English and one or more additional languages, and live, study, or work in a country with a developing economy. We are also looking for student volunteers who are potentially available to assist conference organizers onsite the 1-2 days prior to the conference (28-29 September 2025). We aim for volunteers with broad global and institutional representation, so all students are encouraged to apply.
Volunteers may be assigned to tasks such as assisting with conference check-in, loading buses for field trips, providing access control at the conference location, supporting presentation rooms during the conference, assisting with Q&A sessions, and other tasks that may arise throughout the conference.
Please complete the application by 24 March 2025. Notification of acceptance will be provided prior to 15 April 2025. Please direct any questions to Jayne Jonas (jonasj[at]unk.edu) or worldconference[at]ser.org.
